Vision

City of Canning has undertaken an ambitious and successful digital transformation program and was looking for a secure solution for identity management. This would bolster security for access to various online services and the TechnologyOne ERP.

Traction

estrat's role included:

• Advising on an appropriate solution.
• Designing the AWS Cognito architecture.
• Working with the council to implement the AWS landing zone and associated services.

estrat deployed AWS services including Control Tower, Cognito, S3 and EC2 to enable the council to integrate Cognito with its OneCouncil solution and provide a mechanism for its constituents to safely and securely login to council services through their preferred digital channels. The end-state solution followed similar design patterns and services deployed by local councils across Australia, enabling estrat and the council to move quickly to deploy the solution to its members.

Together we implemented a secure AWS platform using AWS Control Tower and added SSO and security guardrails.

Results

We’re proud to have worked with the digital solutions team at the City of Canning to implement this modern authentication and authorisation solution using AWS Cognito. The council now has a simple and cost effective end user login solution for secure and controlled management and growth as new projects come along.
